A quick bit of self-promotion:

A Necessary Evil - fanfic for the Gothic romance "Crimson Peak" (2015).

Thomas and Lucille Sharpe make their living by marrying and then disposing of heiresses. But when he starts to genuinely fall in love, this leaves him in a very conflicted situation.

Summary: The one thing Thomas could find to be glad about in the whole humiliating evening was that he had set Edith free. But good intentions are hard to keep...
